Psychotherapy is a collaborative experience. In a consistent and trusting environment, clients examine their functioning and life experience to improve their quality of life. It is an interactive process between therapist and client. It is a unique relationship which requires concentration and effort and although much of it is serious, there may be moments of laughter as well.
Although I am psychodynamic in my thinking, I often use cognitive and behavioral strategies. Clients develop new tools and insights to utilize so that improvement is enduring. I am on Aetna and Anthem Provider Panels.
