You always have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” predicting how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients without insurance or choosing not to use their insurance an estimate of the expected charges for psychotherapy services. You can ask me or any health care advisor for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you inquire about the discrepancy.
